Good for you, I'll bet it's a lot easier this time round as well. Btw we don't put anything at all in the cassette or the flush tanks of our caravan loo - but poo in our loo is not allowed. If you just wee imo theirs no need for anything in the tank at all.
Each to his/her own, but the chemicals help to keep the seals and other kit in good order, and pong free (poo or no poo).
If you can't use the onboard facilities to their full potential you can't go to many C&CC rallies - which can be excellent fun and excellent value, or some of their holiday sites (own san. ess.)
things we have done that are just generally useless
1. Broken the jockey wheel winder 2. Got the van stuck on the car towball and fought to free the two until a chap came over and told us to take off the handbrake of the car to "relax" the connection (flat conditions two mad people jumping on the rear bumper to make it go down. 3. poured toilet blue all over my feet cos I forgot to open the cassette "trapdoor". 4. Forgot to tell the kids I was doing the loo and both used it. 5. Poured disinfectant into the cassette void after the previous incident without knowing the cassette void is actually the loo base and it poured into the bathroom floor. 6. motor moved the van with a flat jockey wheel and then wondered why it blew up on site once reinflated and in the hot sun. 7.Tried for ages to light the grill then phoned my Mum (experienced vanner) only for her to remind me to lift the hob glass (safety cut out) 8. wondered why the microwave and hair dryer wouldn't work at a rally before being told by the steward that they both needed EHU and we were in the middle of a field. 9. Asking the same steward to make our heating work and not turning on the gas to fire it up. 10. arguing for an hour over the porch awning construction before getting a chap to help for him to tell us it was a 7'6" awning and an 8' caravan and therefore would never be straight!
Hahaha!! That made me chuckle!! Sounds like our carry on camping adventures on our first few trips not so long ago!! Our first trip, my misses fell out the porch door, we flooded the caravan floor as the therm heater had cracked over the winter (not drained properly) and this soaked all bedding which was stred under the seats. We spilled red wine over the seats! Smashed the rear lights on the way home on a fense, must remember the rear swings out!! However, it didnt put us off, we love it!!

Hi annielou, made me smile, hope kids were not with you at the time, as they will not forget, and cast it up to you at a later time, it just their way of getting their own back for all the times we embarrassed them.

Hi Al+Mel, I can see the thing with the rallies & all (though that's not something that affects us) - but we never have any pong from our poo & chemical-free loo honest ! If you keep it clean & empty it every few days it's fine. We need to empty it that often anyway !
The chemicals keeping the seals & kit in good order I just don't get though ... how so ?
