Is it necessary to disconnect the battery terminals each time I put the van away for storage when I get home? Sometimes it's only away for a month then I get it out and go wandering again but I've always disconnected until last time when I forgot and the battery still seemed fully charged!

Any thoughts?

No you dont have to disconnect it,as long as you dont leave on things that will drain it like a sterio on stand by or the tv arial booster.I take mine in doors during the winter when the van is in storage the rest of the year it is left in place.

All the vans I have owned have had a switch to turn the electrics from van to car with a mid position of off.  If you switch to the off position the van will not draw any current from the battery.

If I forget to do this on my van, the battery invariably goes flat.  I cannot find what is draining the battery (not the TV ariel booster which is easy to overlook) but I'm not too concerned as I am now getting used to leaving the switch in the off position.
