Following my 1st trip disaster thread here are some before an after pic of our much loved 1st van

cbreddie - I am not sure yet, an independant assessor has confirmed its written off, he is sending me confirmation of this which I have to include in my claim form then we will take it from there, I am sure it will not be straight forward as insurance never is.

Jim - thanks for the message and the tip, i am sure we are just at the tip of the iceberg regarding the claim!

The main thing is everyone is OK

Thats a nice van, if i could find a van identical to that i would be over the moon - it looks really good inside too..hopefully the insurance will pay up and you can get another.

real shame about your 'van, but hey that can be replaced, your kids can't, thank god their okay,

reading your posts ,seems to me you did all you could prior to starting your trip,so shrug your shoulders, pat yourself down, put it down to experience (or lack of ),thank your lucky stars you all got home safe, and start al over again

Thanks gil16e yes it is the main thing having my family safe.

We looked for months to get the van and its condition was outstanding a definate 1 off for a 1999 model to be so modern looking,  we got it for a bargain as the couple were packing in caravanning due to a change in personal circumstances so we also got everything included with it!

At least we now have all the accessories, back on the hunt for a van, athough hols now on hold as we were due to go away next sat for 10 days.

Cheers Stevo1 for your message, i am sure we will be very nervous the 1st time we go off when we find another van but we are determind to do this!
