All I would add is that it seems easier if you put the centre leg together with the top pointing towards the caravan. Then as you lift it, it lifts the canvas at the same time.

We have just bought a caravan that came with a apache torino awning,we just threaded the awning through the rail first taking note the right way, look at the poles try and sort which is left and right for the corners and then the center one you need to know which is left and right.the hook ends go from van roof slotted in the grey square blocks that are on the awning across the top.the poles with scew fixing are the inbetween rails, others are the uprights and the center poles that go from corner to corner at the front.if you just have a go you will sort it out and once you have done it you will know for next time.sorry if i have not explained myself but it is easy once you have done it.I would have a go at home,if you can't don't worry go on site and ask another caravaner to help you out i am sure it would not be a problem.
I have an apache porch awning with poles on springs. If your is like mine I find it best to build structure first with the bottom half of the legs "broken" at the springs so it is about half height. Leave the tension screws loose at this stage.
Run the awning onto the rail and then "walk" the frame under. Lift the legs ( on a low setting), add front short bars into front awning flap, tension, then set heights to desired tension.

Do you know which model it is? think ours is the Kensington, the front is all in one piece - spring loaded.
I could email you a copy of our instructions if you like,if so just let me know your email address.
I have just purchased an Apache Kensington 900 awning, without instructions, and I would really appreciate a copy of the instructions you mention above. My email address is md.stone at btconnect.com
