Having been campers for years, we are now considering buying a caravan and having had a look at many different layouts, we have decided a 4-berth fixed be would suit us best. We have seen the Adria Altea 432PX, which seems a good value for money, no frills caravan.

Has anyone any experience of this van or heard anything good/bad about them?

Any feedback appreciated! Thanks...

Not that model, but we have owned a smaller Altea for 2 years and have been very satified with it. As said, no frills, but solid, warm and comfortable.

I have had a 2005 model nearside door 432 PX for over a year now and have used it while working away from home over last winter as well as on campsites. It is really set up for electric hook up as water heating is electric and there is no battery as standard. Also if you fit a battery as I did you also have to fit a charger as the standard setup will not charge a flat battery.I am planning to fit a gas water heater in the near future to give more flexibility. The lighting is 12V and works on mains or battery. There is not a lot of worktop space so I fitted a folding shelf between cupboard and sink as there is no draining board. I think mine has an unusual layout -there are variations even with the same model number.Having said all that I am really pleased with the van.Hope this helps. Any questions just ask.

The review depend on the model year. The shape changed as from 2009 onwards as did the specification. Are you looking at a pre or post 2009 model. After 2009 they cam with charger built in, oven, and dual fuel water heater. As from 2010 they also came with polyester sides. They are very good vans.

Hi we have a An Adria Altea 542 UK 2008 model year, much bigger than the 432 but the sample concept. We find and think this is a really well built van with no immediate problems. We have caravanned through the year from -20°C to 32°C and have been warm and cosy or cool and fresh. I agree that sometimes the burden of it being set up for EHU only is a pain as we have a mover so just take the battery charger with us (Ctek 3600 smart charger). Remember these van are for the continental market really where the emphasis is on outdoors and outdoor cooking etc. Other than that wouldn't change it for the world, just coming up to 3yrs old and still looks and smell brand new.
good luck.
