I am going to take the van to my local weighbridge this Saturday, as by my calculations by weighing everything we put in the van it should weigh 1266kgs.
What is the best way to do it to get the weight accurate on the weighbridge.
If 'bridge is too busy to allow you to unhitch van on there, drive car & 'van onto 'bridge & weigh. Take 'van home or drop off nearby if you can, drive car onto 'bridge & weigh. subtract 2nd weight from first, gives weight of 'van.

Another way is to drive over the weighbridge until only the caravan axle is on the weighing area. You then can get home and weigh your nose weight and add it to the weighbridge total.
If you. Are working out your max axle weights etc then don't add the nose weight, just drive on the weigh bridge and leave only the axle/s on it, the nose weight is carried by the the tow cars axle and is not part of the van weight.
The MTPLM is the weight across the axle and does not include the noseweight.
As stated by Davek0974 (above)
I would certainly take issue with this statement.
The "Maximum Totally Permitted Laden Mass" is exactly that it is a "mass" of the caravan not to be confused with the weight limit of the axle. On a towed vehicle plate you should have the MIRO, the MTPLM and then 1,2& 3 values for each axle starting from the front.
So the weight you measure on your caravan wheels must not exceed "1" [plus 2 if twin axle] for axle loading and to comply with the MTPLM your measured axle value plus your noseweight must not be exceeded.
Use Tentz method and you will be safe from a VOSA prosecution if pulled and within the weight limit for car , caravan or car plus caravan . Towball loading can only be checked by you with a weighing device at the time of hitching the fully loaded caravan . Axle weighers are just that , nothing more . If VOSA want to be tightly accurate they will ask you to weigh car and trailer seperately then will check your load on the towball .
You must weigh the van on its own, yes? The people behind will understand as thats what weighbridges do. It doesnt take mins to unhitch and put the jockey on the bridge. It has took me quite a while with a lowloader to weigh, thats what you pay for.

Thanks for all the practical advise.
Will leave the van on scales solo when weighing.
Thanks

To weigh off seperately the weighbridge owner may ask for two ticket fee`s . Tentz method has the same result , is faster and a nice operator may not even charge if you just write the figures down .
MTPLM is the total permissible loaded weight of a trailer standing alone , not attached to anything . You cannot take away the nose weight and add more load .
When the trailer is hitched , the MTPLM looks different because the tow vehicle is taking some weight . All this does on a split weighing is give you axle loading , it does not mean the MTPLM of your trailer can be increased by the difference . If you are uncertain of the rule , it may be time for you to ring your local VOSA office for the correct explanation , they will be polite and helpful .
