Hi, Lots of members were very helpful with suggestions to ease my old dog Bella into getting used to our van when we first began touring. Very sadly Bella passed away, but, thanks to a lot of useful suggestions she really began to enjoy her outings/Now we have a 13 week old pup and are going out in van on Thursday, just 15 minutes down the road to Brean, for 2 nights, to get him used to touring.Fingers crossed!!

We travel with three Yorkshire terrier pups. 0ne is 8 months old so not so bad, the other a male is 13 weeks old and the little female is 9 weeks old. This is in additon to the 11 year old female and the 16 year old pussy cat! Great fun!

Good luck, we took our 8 week old Collie pup away for the weekend a couple of weeks ago and she really loved it. Settled in really well but we weren't on a commercial site so we had loads of space around us and weren't restricted to having her on a lead 24/7.

Away again this weekend for 5 nights hopefully she'll be just as happy.

aw thanks,its so awful seeing dogs tied up outside of vans, dont you think? Our poor Bella hated it, especially if the site was a bit fussy and the tie had to be short.Thankfully the last trip we went on was very informal, one of the other campers suggested we let her off as no one minded, and she LOVED IT, couldnt get her in, she kept running out, which was very sad, cause as it turned out, she was diagnosed with tumours 10 days later.So its lovely to think she was unrestricted and enjoyed her last break.Heaven knows what this little terror will be like, he is a maniac and developes horns in the evening!

We bought these windbreaks. The dogs and us can see out and you don't feel so isolated.

We've just got back from a weeks camping at Stowford farm meadows and have to say Finn my cocker spaniel just turned 1 this week thoroughly enjoyed his first camping holiday , he managed to escape from the tent 3 times and to be fair was on his best behaviour most of the time, only occasional barking when the bbq eS on. We are booking up for October and Finn will be coming along :)

On campsites do dogs have to be tied up or can you use orange mesh netting to create a pen around the caravan???

Most campsites say they must be on a leash,in other words under control.Making a pen i dont see a prob as long as the dog is under control.
