all the dog stuff goes in and on the car so we can set everything set up from the van and awning then we pop the dogs in the van while we set up all there stuff. the van would be overweight if we didnt do it that way. they have to be comfy or they would soon let us know lol

Hi all!!

Thank you so much for all your advice.

In the end we went with two fabric lightweight collapsible crates, each unzipped open on one side and thus connected together. We put a dark blanket over the top to make it dark and cosy.  Solved our problem perfectly!

The dogs LOVED it in there, and would happily  pop in even when it wasn't bedtime!

We had a fantastic week in Devon - with brilliant weather, lovely evening strolls along beaches, stopping for ice cream or chips. The dogs got a lot of attention... so all in all our first trip out with the dogs was a great success! Can't wait for next year!

Thanks again all!!

Oh and Fallenangel - your dog crate set up looks great! Like a doggie dormitory! Very comfy and organised, lucky (and cute!) dogs!

our new doggie camping beds.  Would recomend for any crate trained dogs as very easy to put up, lightweight and easy to transport.

Mia at home trying hers out.  It was huge!!

fairly cheap to buy too
