I could recommend a good cafe where you can drink tea and pee all you want, but having a kip could be a problem - there is a small car park but they might not like you staying if you're not actually in the cafe. You could park in the lay-by outside but it'll be very noisy with the passing traffic. It's the Highwayman Cafe on the A64, Scarborough side of York - good food, reasonable prices and their all-day breakfast is brill.

We killed some time at the above cafe at Easter. Place was very busy, we bought a coffee, had a wee and sat in the sun for an hour to kill time.

If you dont mind using your own facilities to meet your needs, there is a huge laybay just before Whitwell on the Hill on the A64 set back from the main road, its a bit of the old road. If you have a look on Google street view / Satellite view its at the bottom of Barton Hill but before Whitwell, look for the signs for Castle Howard and Slingsby, turn left, then turn immediate right in 25 yds into the layby which rejoins the main carriageway in about 300 yds.. Its wide enough to have a caravan on each side and still drive a lorry down the centre.. Ive used it many times for a comfort break, its my home patch..
