as soon as i can get the hob out im hoping i can get behing the cooker to work on that and detect where the live wire should be

This wouldn't be anything to do with powering the oven would it, or nearby socket ?

Stevo 1... im really not sure all the sockets ive tested and work fine. as far as im aware there shouldnt be anything 240v on the cooker (but i will stand corrected if need be) also this isnt the standard wireing its thick heavey round wire and because it still has the brass crimps on it looks like its been pulled out of some sort of electrical device.. im wondering if it had an outside plug that i had never noticed and it was just spured from the 240v fusespur for fridge...

anyway hobs out but got to dark to see. carnt get caravan on drive due to building works so no power to van either.. lets see what tomorrow brings

The op has still given no details of tyres, make & weight rating & also if pressures were checked on a regular basis. Therin could lie a possible reason for the very unusual failure of a 6mth old tyre.

sorry UNIROYALRALLE OR RALLLE UNIROYAL not sure what excatly as the both tyres have been taken away by supplier ( i presume for testing) as far as im aware and to be honest i really dont have a clue about tyres so wouldnt know load weights etc all i know is they were 165-70-13 anything other than that im un aware as i called them up told them what i wanted they come out and fitted.

As I do what i consider alot of miles yes i check regular,i'm not saying i do it every weekend or every time i take van out but i would say ive checked presures at least every other time i use caravan aswell as checking my vans tyre pressure/water/oil etc along with 6 monthly services as I carnt afford to have a break down .the only thing I can say is the filling stations air pump is the sort that seems to let sme pressure out before blowing up to desired pressure. so wether it had lost any pressure form 1 time to the next is anyones guess.

As for the work it should be complete by friday.providing I can get my fat fingers on the nut to tighten the gas to the hob up fridge may have to wait as thats more of a mess. but can turn off at manifold and use on 240v

The tyres you describe sound like car tyres probably with a load rating of 79, ie 437kg per tyre. This gives a combined max load of under 900kg. ie they should not be fitted to a single axle caravan of over 900kg all up weight.

If yours weighs much more than this then you have the cause of your tyre failure. It sounds like an odd size for a single axle(unless yours is twin axle in which case the tyres would be ok)I would have thought the size should be 165/80/13C. These are commercial van tyres with a combined load rating of over 1200kg for 2 tyres.

If this is correct original fitment size for your caravan you need 175x13C or 175/80x13C(same size), these are commercial van tyres & should have a load index of around 95. 690kg per tyre, ok for a caravan of nearly 1400kg so adequate for yours.

A size not used by modern vehicles but still listed by some makers. Hankook do them which is a well known name & should be ok. Any tyre depot or mobile fitting company should be able to order this size although probably not a normal stock item.

Try to stick to well known names rather than 'budget' tyres if you can.

Hello Jasere sorry to hear of your misfortune and hope you get it back to how you want it soon.
I have been caravanning for quite a few years and the ideas of a blow out especially when overtaking really bothered me,so last year I had two new tyres fitted and at the same time had the dealer fit Tyron bands.
I check my tyres and pressures each time I tow and now I have the peace of mind that Tyron bands are fitted, not particularly cheap but worth it.
