I have a 2010 model Stealth which was poorly constructed and I am still having problems with it. There's someone coming on Saturday to repair the latest thing which is the furniture coming away from the wall.

On saying that, the fact is that  there has been a change of staff at the factory - the previous manager was sacked when it was realised the amount of faults there were in the vans. Didn't stop the company selling them - which in my opinion doesn't do them any credit !. They seem happy to keep repairing the faults as they are reported - what happens after the warranty runs out ?.

The blurb on their website about 'Customer satisfaction' appears just to be hot air I I can see no difference with any of the established caravan manufacturers !

However don't let my ongoing experiences cloud your judgement. I've met the present construction manager and I have every confidence that any van built this year would be of the highest standard !.

In case you weren't aware of Stealth's arrival on the caravan scene about 2 years ago, this is a potted history:

1. Annoyed almost everyone at the NEC show by limiting access to their van(s), hard-selling, dodgy finishing to the vans and generally acting like fools - a huge PR disaster.

2. Mawkwind is, too date, the first and only person I've read who has bought one, so a 100% failure record so far .

3. Dunster House mainly make garden sheds - caravans are new to them.

4. The workforce are mostly people who used to make static caravans for another company that went bust, I believe (I read this on this or another forum, so happy to be corrected if its wrong).

I applaud a new manufacturer on the scene BUT I would personally not want to risk being an 'early adopter', especially considering the above.

Do you not read the Bailey faults posts?

Far worse faults than the Stealth thread

People still buy them though - and suffer the same faults again

Swift have had the same trouble this year with their new range of caravans

set on extra staff to cope with demand (and now got rid of most of them)

However our 2010 conqueror 645 (old shape) has had no faults what so ever  and we got a major discount So i think its better to buy at the end of the range rather than the beginning as after 2 years or so they must have some idea on how to build it These people are not skilled craftsman remember

Its not rocket science. If you can build flat pack furniture then you can build a caravan.

Every panel is precut and just has to be joined together with the correct fixings.

I mean what can go wrong !
