Went to use the motor mover hadn't realised left the handbrake on, could this have caused a problem with the motor mover now not working? Any thoughts on resolving this problem would be appreciated as did not receive a book on this mover when we purchased our caravan (already fitted and was working prior to incident). The number is Carver-M606846 028088. Help!
Most movers have a way of resetting an overload condition. Could be as simple as a reset button on the main controller unit which is probably under on of your seats in the van.
possible you have broken the drive pins.can you hear the motor working but the rollers are not going round? as said some have a reset button inside the black box. you can also chew up the cog wheels in the gear box.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Update on above, hubby did the reset again and whoopee working properly, but he who knows all resists using the mover. I reckon it's the Macho side dominating him.
Funny thing this refusing to use a mover or rejecting them out of hand as another poster somewhere else on this forum does.
For me and many like me with artificial knees (which have to be respected), a motor mover is an essential part of our caravanning lives. Without it I could not continue.
For many others it's just a gift from the gods making life a great deal easier. I can remember life before my motor mover and the frequent smell of overheating clutches and intensely aching backs trying just to get the caravan positioned correctly. This especially on CC sites where you had to line up with a little white post at the back of the pitch.
Don't get me wrong Vic, he who knows all is in favour of movers, he just likes to practice his manouveres as much as he can. Unfortunately we tried using the mover today, it went forward a bit, then back a bit, then wouldn't work at all. So now we are back to wondering why this is happening.

Sounds like it's being overloaded and cutting out or there is a short circuit somewhere. Also have you checked the state of the batteries in the remote control and also the state of the caravan battery? There might be just enough in them to operate the mover for a few minutes then the voltage drops below the required level...Then of course there's always the reset button at the back of the control box but this tends to be only needed when a fault has caused the circuit to trip out.
If none of these things are the problem then you may have to get an expert to have a look over it for you.
