we used to have this problem with our bailey wyoming ours was caused by the hot water pipe bieng cable tied to the cold pipe this then heated the cold water if left in the pipe this would then taste off,we contacted our dealer but never had a satisfactory responce.
------------- If You Open Your Mind Too Much Your Brain Will Fall Out
Please read the attached link if you are confused .
Milton is NOT bleach based and is NOT a corrosive .
Would you give your baby a bottle soaked in a corrosive ?
My caravan is 33 years old , Pipework is food grade , pumps are modern . I have no issues with corrosion or slime in my pipes . In conjunction with Aqua-Sol , my water tastes great . I do not have any links to Milton , just like to see a balanced and factual discussion .
I have supplied the link for those who are new to the subject of caravan water supply sterilizing to read and maybe question the manufacturer and then decide for themselves whether or not it is a suitable product . Other sellers of sterilizing products who do not sell Milton have a vested interest in saying it is unsafe .

From the link you give above Alan - "The Milton Sterilising Fluid is a 2% aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite that contains 16.5% salt."
However, Sodium hypochlorite is a chemical compound with the formula NaClO. Sodium hypochlorite solution, commonly known as bleach or chlorox, is frequently used as a disinfectant or a bleaching agent.
Sodium hypochlorite reacts with metals gradually, such as zinc, to produce the metal oxide or hydroxide:
NaClO + Zn → ZnO + NaCl
I know what I will not put in my caravan water system...

Alan I disagree completely with what you say. Although Milton is good for sterilising baby equipment and is tried and tested. You also have to use with bottle brushes and thoroughly clean the equipment before you sterilise. The chemicals within Milton will react with certain metals that is why they say not to put in the sterilising container.
I repeat what I said before DO NOT USE MILTON TO STERILISE YOUR CARAVAN WATER SYSTEM. Milton will not destroy biofilm that can form in your aquaroll and pipework etc. This biofilm acts as a food and attracts all sorts of nasty bacteria associated with bad stomachs etc. If you use Puriclean as directed this will cleanse and sterilise your system then put a Puritab in your aquaroll on every fill up you will be totally safe and It leaves no taste.

Could be the fact it's new, i used to be a softdrink and water fitter in cafes and bars etc for over 17yrs and when i used new equipment i had the same problem, just keep running water thro and it should settle down:)
Our Talbot campervan is 22 years old and we had endless hassles with smelly water. I realised it was the pipes and/or water pump due to infrequent use. The water tank is easy to empty, clean and rinse, pipes and water pump not. I overcame the problem very cost effectively by connecting a clear plastic pipe from the water tank and replacing the water pump with a aftermarket 12 volt windscreen washer motor. It won't run a shower but produces enough pressure and volume to wash hands, dishes and fill the kettle. You can see algae, etc in a clear plastic pipe which I simply replace when need be.

All this is very well and good but a campsites pipes are not purified when water has been stood in them all through the closed season. It's like going on holiday for a few weeks and using your own tap at home. No puriclean used there.

This theory is correct, in areas where flouride is added to water, if you fill your kettle from the tap and there is some water left in there from the previous boil, if you then boil and make tea you will notice a tcp taste. Always make sure your kettle is completely empty and swill some cold water around it and empty it out before re-filling and boiling.
