We're just about to join the caravan club. We will be going to the Caravan show at the NEC next month and were wondering if there may be any benefit to joining at the show.
Has anyone joined at a show and got a reduction or additional freebies?
cheers
Rob

so what is the caravan club about then, I've heard a little about it but unsure if I need to join or want to joint ??????
Being a member of the CC gives you access to their extensive network of main sites and lots of small 5 unit site called Certificated Locations (CL's). Some of the main sits are open to non members, but non members pay more. You can book a CC main site without having to pay a deposit. CC sites are generally of an excellent standard. You get a monthly magazine thought the post. The CC offers insurance for Caravans, Cars, House etc. - many reckon that, although their caravan insurance is not cheap, it is of the highest quality cover. We find they get us a really good car insurance deal. They offer a very competative car breakdown service (through Green Flag) called MayDay, and it is specifically designed for the caravanner (e.g. double journey if you breakdown on the way to a booked site). The club also negotiates discounted very deals with the major ferry operators and they provide the high quality Red Pennant travel insurance. They also run courses e.g. on towing etc.
So, if you want good quality sites at reasonable prices, a good magazine, top insurance then the caravan club is worth your while. I'm bound to have missed something, but hope that will give you some idea.
Best wishes
------------- David
