 hi

I purchased an new elddis caravan(twin axle) this year ,and my insurers made it clear i needed wheels locks that went through to the chassis,

Bpw have recently launched there own locks ,called diamond wheel locks, make sure they fit your wheels first!  as they dont fit all the alloy wheels in the range.

The Diamond wheel lock was taken of the market in 09, as it was almost identical to the Alko unit. Hence Alko threatened legal action.

So as it stands now, you cannot get a "chassis" mounted wheel lock for an Elddis.

Wow then we were lucky to have one as standard on our 2011 model!

I seem to recall seeing something about 2012 Elddis Crusaders being fitted with Winterhoff Diamond wheel locks so maybe the dispute over patents has been resolved.

You could be right, as the option for 2012 does state Diamond standard wheel locks

For your information there is a diamond wheel lock available for fitting to Elddis caravans. They come as standard on the Buccaneer range and can be ordered by the retailer from Elddis for all other 2012 caravan ranges.
Some 2011 Elddis ranges did have a different Alloy wheel and therefore these locks would not fit.

Regards

I currently have the nemesis, but its a beast and would damage the alloys. I have had to replace the trims on my current van twice.

I am thinking of this one.

The SAS clamp i use for my wheel is similar to this one, i put an extra piece of foam between the clamp and the alloy for added protection.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I bought a new Crusader Super Siricco 2011 model about 3 months ago and it came with 2 of the diamond through the wheel locks. These were not an optional extra, they were supplied with the van.

i got a 2011 eldiss super sirocco, and you get 2 diamond wheel clamps with the van, they fit through the alloy wheel into the chassis, bit of a pain to get both aligned but its all part of the set up routine now, i also bought the tow hitch lock for the winterhoof tow hitch, one that can be fitted whilst towing or not.
