We had our first trip in our new (to us) van this summer, we'd bought a new leisure battery before we left and all was well for the first week or so, but for the last few days our battery failed to charge, despite being on EHU, and we ended up with virtually no interior light. I'm presuming there is a problem with the van electrics, any thoughts?
If you have a charger then perhaps its defunct or some wires loose. It happens. As its new to you get it reported before your warranty runs out, if you have one. If you bought it from a dealer, in addition to warranty the SOGA gives you better protection within the first six months of your purchase so don't leave it until after those six months have passed.

It's about 15 years old. I had no idea it might not charge the battery from the hook up. There is a panel above the wardrobes that shows how much juice is in the leisure battery and you can switch it from car to caravan battery. We assumed this was so you could switch it to car when driving and that would recharge the leisure battery, but that it would charge off hook up too. Battery worked fine for first ten days or so then just died and no amount of charging helped -in fact we disconnected it and hooked it up to a mains charger and it still died.
If you charged the battery from a separate mains charger & battery did not hold the charge the assume battery has had it. Charge it again overnight & if it is dead in a short time, take it back if its fairly new.
Its possible caravan does not have a charger, not all older ones did.
