Does anybody have any advice about relining the Microlite?

We still have the original pinkish paisley lining, which is now starting to come off the walls slightly, but the roof lining has come down. Is there a way to re use the material with fresh insulation as I would like to keep the original lining.

There seems to be a choice of adhesives from the motor industry that will glue material to fibreglass.

Any tips for this tricky job would be most welcome.

Also !!! the Microlite is a 400, which is a 2 adult, 2 children configuration, which has a sink, 2 burner hob and wardrobe layout. has anybody installed a fridge, either under the sink or where the wardrobe is, instead of the wardrobe? The fridge we have which lives in the awning is too large for those areas so would have to look for an alternative.

Any advice would be so helpful, thanks Jackie

I did this, just bought new lining from Freedom Caravans, Stafford (01785 222 488) and attached it with Evostick Impact adhesive.

However, I found the people in the Freedom Spares dept very helpful, so perhaps give them a call.

Thqnks, I will, didn't realise you could just use ordinary adhesive. I have spoken to them some while ago about buying spare parts and they were very helpful then, so will call tomorrow and see about the cost and the actual doing of it.

Thanks again, Jackie

They also fit fridges and everything else in the Freedoms, they will send you a price list if you email or ring them.

Thanks for the reply, have contacted Freedom and they have some very good advice, so plenty to consider over winter. Will either put a fridge under the hob or where the wardrobe is. Got to decide what colour scheme to choose for the walls etc and then the cushions!!!!! So much to think about, buts its lovely to have a project for the winter. Thanks for your advice, Jackie

hello Sticker, sadly my bed is opposite the wardrobe!! I think our Microlite 400 has an unusual layout in that there is the usual double bed to the left at the end and opposite the door/wardrobe is my bed which is supposed to be a bed for two children!!! It has an extendable flap for night time use to make the bed wider from a usual bench seat. We find the small double bed too small in the heat of france! The only space we have is to convert the cupboard under the sink, but the fridge will stick out slightly or do something with the wardrobe, since we also have a collapsible wardrobe/cupboard in the awning.

We mainly use the caravan as a sleeping pod depending on the weather as to whether to cook outside or not, well the Old Git always BBQs anyway.

Or we just keep on lugging the fridge into the awning and not change the original layout too much, keep on changing our minds...

Still all ideas always welcome

Hello Sticker, thanks for the info about the fridge, always good to have something to hunt!! We always put our bikes in, its a knack but we stuff in them with the fridges and stuff, theres always stuff..the awning is invaluable and now I am experimenting with a kitchen tent we have acres of room. We give those posh twin wheelers a run for their money in the space stakes!!!!

I envy your escape to York for the weekend, I have an 88 year old mother who i care for, so escapes are not easy, and have to be well planned as we also have chickens, geese, cats, dogs, cockatiels and ferrets not to mention the guinea pigs in their gulag ho ho.

Thanks again for your prompt reply and will start hunting soon.
