Hi everyone, just to say that we are really happy with our new (to us) XK 550. We loved our other Geist but some aXXXXole set fire to it outside our house in an arson attack. Really scarey and it did damage the house as well, but we are gradually getting sorted and this is the first step to getting back to caravanning as we have missed the whole summer!
Very impressed with our last Geist and the quality was so good that we really wanted another one. After a lot of research and internet trawling we have found our new van which has a fixed bed and U shaped seating at the front which converts to another double.
Just want to ask though, this comes with underfloor heating which the dealer couldn't get working. Has anyone got any experience of this. I've never heard of this in a caravan before! Would be grateful for any tips, advice, etc.
I havnt got a clue as I'm new to caravaning but good luck in getting a caravan again I'm sure you cant wait to get back out there after missing the summer.

Hi, i also have a Geist, LV555 and love it. re the underfloor heating, i seem to recall posts about this on a site dealing with Geist exports to Australia, i think? Or a dealership in the UK who was dealing with them, sorry not to be more help.

I am so glad you managed to find another one after what happened to the last one, We love our geist too, would be devastated if anything happened to it,
Like Nelmo has said I also found elite very helpful.

hi all, I am also very pleased with my Geist LV485, a lovely, well built 2 berth, made in 2004. does anyone know if the UK Geist owners club has taken off yet and if so, who do I contact? thanks
I always thought it was a bit optimistic having a website and owners club for one of the rarest vans in the country - is there a Bailey owners club even?
I've only ever seen 2 or 3 Geists on sites and one of those was in France.

Agree with tparkes about the quality of Geist caravans - we've just come back from a break in East Devon in our 2005 LV485. It's only the second time we've used it and it continues to impress.
Yes, it's a rare 'van all right; I've only seen three others since we bought ours last year. Is there any interest in starting an owners' club? It would probably have an even smaller membership than the Bankers' Appreciation Society, but at least we could hold our AGM in one of the members' vans without feeling crowded!
There was a rally in 2008 where there were at least 8 of us. At that time there was a Geist owners club with website – started when the Geist caravans were based on Dethleths, the man who was running it decided for some reason not to continue. The last website got put up before a new committee was formed and was a bit advanced - i.e. having the chat bit before we got going and could monitor for spam.
The consensus at that time from people we were in touch with, was that there were not enough of us with a Geist wanting to be in an owners club to make it successful. There are people with Geists who don’t want an owners club and when its small number of us with Geist vans/ motor homes
It is also more confusing, as not everyone with a Geist is the same as there are some who have bought Australian Geist that are not same as UK Geists, as they have a different spec and the warranty is not with Geist UK.
Thanks to some very good advice received at the NEC show and subsequent follow-up instructions by email, Camper UK came up with the answer to our question. The underfloor heating is now up and running on our Geist! Very warm and lovely underfoot......
Great result and thanks to all who replied and especially thanks to Alan Pickering at Camper UK!
