we rally quite a lot and have found that a 6kg of gas will last more than 4-6 days. If you are carefull it will last more it only goes fast if you use the gas fire.
You are correct what I meant to say was in the winter a bottle will last 4-6 days but if I need the gas fire I switch it on.
Actually the vast majority of rallies I have been on we have paid on arrival. It's usually pretty straightforward to predict how many will fail to show. If rain is forcast, up to 10 per cent in my experience will not show.
It's a lot less than 10% if they have paid up front! A bit like the Caravan club sites and the arguments for paying deposits. If I'm honest there have been times when we wouldn't have turned up if we hadn't already paid. That said most rally organisers I know will try to give a refund if they can. I think you also would be amazed at how many times the organisors put there hands in their own pockets. In our centre at least the price you see in the book is the price everyone including the organisers pay.
I was on a rally at the weekend where the field wouldn't physically take more than 18 vans. If that was turn up and pay it would have been chaos because a lot more than 18 would have wanted to get on. So I was looking at from the point of veiw of over attendance not no shows.
All that said if you see something you want to go on it is always worth giving the rally organisers a call just to before the rally to see if they have any space they may have late cancellations that they are happy to fill and would welcome you paying on the gate I know I would.
Sorry If above is the sort of stuff that gives Rallys a bad name.
THEY ARE ACTUALLY AND ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FUN EnJOY
