We will hopefully have a seasonal pitch next year and will be leaving the awning up so was looking for some ideas on what others have used for flooring in the awning as it's a hardstanding pitch and we don't like feeling all the stones through the normal breathable carpet we use when touring.
With it being in place all season we also need something that won't go damp and is easy to keep clean.
a large flynet is what we've used before when we've had awnings as it flattens the grass whilst you're there, stops the bugs coming through but isn't all wet and manky when you take it up. Or try straw!

We have a wooden floor on our seasonal pitch. It is in sections with a frame and thinner sheets of wood screwed into the frames. It can be taken up each winter and as our caravan is left on the pitch during the closed season we put the floor carefully under the caravan. We then have the breathable awning carpet on top with some mats which can be picked up and shaken clean of mud, grass etc. Others on our site have carpet down - its a real home from home. As we have just bought a lightweight hoover we will be looking at a cheap offcut of carpet for next season.
Vwstarbug - we are in a similar position to OP. Can I ask do you attach your elastics to the pallets or still peg into the ground, and where do you tuck the inside flaps (don't know what they are called!)

Elastics peg into the ground. Flaps get tucked under pallets outside.
------------- Smoke me a kipper ............ I'll be back for breakfast!!!!!
We use a normal groundsheet (to keep out the damp)topped with a breathable groundsheet (for warmth) and a large rug bought for £10 from a car boot sale.
We use the interlocking mats as is Michael's link. They are easy to put down and take up, can be easily replaced if one is damaged, and are comparatively easy to store. We lay old rugs / carpet offcuts on the areas we walk on most, and it works pretty well.
Others on our site have all sorts of fancy wooden flooring, which is great during the season, but difficult to store when the awning is down.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
Can I ask do you put the interlocking mats down directly on the hardstanding or do you put them on something first?
