Have you 'bone dryers' checked for spongyness around your windows. At the bottom of the walls and floor in your seat lockers. At the back of your cupboards. The floor under the edges of th caravan? The 'bone dryers' caravans I have looked at all had damp. Obvously I do hope yours is bone dry. When was the last time you checked?

Fred.

last week and the old girl is holding out great. even after the the realy heavy rain we have had recently.

End of July thanks and in the middle of all the rain in August. Its the only down side to owning a nice older van you become obsessive compulsive about damp and check at least once a month, although I'm not sure that is a bad thing.

Glad we aren't the only ones who love our old girl.

As other older `van users , I am OCD over checking and mine is dry , solid and has no area`s of peeling paper . Have you had a bad experience or two and feel there is no such thing as a dry older `van ? Believe us old `van owners , there are dry ones out there .

Good news. Nice to know some people look after their caravans.

Fred, I know what you are saying, we looked at over a dozen 90's vans, all had damp of some description, or poor damp repairs.

The van we bought was advertised as having had damp in the past, and it has been repaired to a VERY high standard indeed, the untrained eye wouldn't notice the repair. The wallboard is a damn near perfect match.

Regardless I will still reseal the whole van, I'm so fussy when it comes to this sort of thing!!
