You won't go back to tenting after switching We love our first van and its great having your own toilet, hot water and central heating. We were sat in ours in Dorset the other week watching the campers getting soaked and blown to bits and were certainly having no doubts about the move! We are in our mid / late thirties and with an 9 month old its fantastic!

We still camp as well, so slow down on the selling, you will get a better price at the start of next season anyway.

We've gone from a caravan back to a tent and are now looking for another van but still feel quite torn if I'm honest.
It's all the associated costs and the towing that are making me doubt, also if the weather is wet and windy I don't think it's much of a holiday in a van or a tent.
ETA - congratulations on your new van dawn and dave
------------- Are you sure you've read the instructions?
Congrats! We were one of those getting wet and miserable in our TT back in April. Bought a van in May and now watch from the dry and warm. Sold TT for more than we paid for it too!
We've just moved from trailer tent to caravan, and this weekend we had a local weekend in the van, just to test it all out before we take the kids with us.
We found quite a few niggles, most of which we have sorted, so its well worth doing! The biggy was realising the charger was dead - so glad we found out this weekend and not when hundreds of miles from home with the kids!!
We aren't put off though, I think we are really going to enjoy caravanning.
Congrats! Best thing we did was buy a van, we always meant to go camping but never did. Now we have a toddler its the only real way to holiday. I actually enjoy wet afternoons in the van, heating on, family movie, time with the family but no guilt trips about diy or housework, catching up on a good book. A trip close to home for the first one is a really good idea (especially if you already know the site) we had a few teething problems the first time so knowing where all the shops are does help!
