Sorry if this has been discussed - search found nothing for me.
I have tried over and over to retune my TV in the caravan since the switch over. I have a digital booster and caravan supplier said it should work with the aerial I have fitted.
Would it be the TV or the aerial? Some caravaners managed to get a couple of terrestrial channels, others freeview on same site.
Has anyone solved this problem?
I could take my portable TV from home I suppose to see if that tunes better then I would know its tv?
Have you tried tuning it in at home, that way you could elliminate possible problems with the TV.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Hi Bill I did think of that but the sound comes through the stereo system in caravan by some red yellow and white connectors (Can't you tell how technical I am lol)
How would I sort that out at home. Guess I would still get a picture that would give me a good clue.
If the tv doesn't have built in freeview or a digibox attached, it won't get freeview channels. As they have switch off the analogue in a lot of areas, this would mean you won't get anything at all.
If you do have the above, then it might just be the area you tried. Like Janus said, try tuning it in at home - if it works there, then it should in theory work when your out and about. You will have to retune it and search for channels each time you go to a different place though.

Tuning it at home won't help. You need to retune every time you change site.
Check that your aerial is pointing the same way as everybody else's, then retune.

true but the idea was to decide whether there was a problem on the TV side or the Aerial side, and tuning in at home on a known good signal would sort that problem out.

Sorry Bill, I take your point. At least you would know the TV was OK. It's just that I have helped quite a few people, mainly on CLs, who didn't realise they had to retune when they moved, and came into our caravan. They were surprised we had a picture, and said they had no TV at all.
Hi flip53, as the above posts assuming you have digital box or free view built in, my small 8 inch caravan TV had not been tuned for almost a year, and after first retune only a handful of channels, 3rd time over 100, just make sure your aerial is pointing in same direction as the other van aerials.
