Could do with a bit of advice regarding the electrics on our 1989 Abbey Somerset...
Just got back from 3 night stay in North Wales and while there we had a problem with the electrics. The water pump wouldnt work, toilet flush wouldnt work and and the electric sockets on one side of the van (door side) wouldnt work, which also meant the fridge (which isnt the original) wouldnt work either. The sockets for the tv/freeview and the socket postioned just below the right hand side sofa did still work. Was tempted to pack up and leave but we muddled on and in the end had a great few days away despite our caravan problems. Im not very good with electrics but i did check the fuses which are situated on the control box thing next to the wardrobe door and everything looked fine. One other thing is, that the normal lights in the caravan were kind of intermittent and if you tried the flush on toilet or water pump, everything apart from tv socket would shut down. I'd then have to pull the mains lead out from the ehu and plug it back in to get the lights back on. Oh and one more thing. We have 2 spotlights above the sofas, one on each side. When we went to bed and i turned the one spot light we were using off, while leaving the tv plugged in and on standby, all the lights on the main electric control by the wardrobe that indicate wether battery needs charging etc would all start flashing like mad. Only turning the tv off at the plug would stop ALL of them flashing.
As you can tell im hopeless when it comes to electrics, and its our last time away in our caravan this year so ive got plenty of time to get the problem sorted but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
