So does anyone know where I can get the Windows Tinted / made slightly darker

will this not invalidate your warranty???

Same as above. My 2009 Compass is in the dealers at the moment getting the front window replaced for the reason stated above. I had a fight on my hands but they are doing it. I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on if I had altered the window in any way.

We haven't yet worked out why caravans were given tinted windows.  Do they make the van darker inside?   When I recently commented to a dealer about the new vans having the ugly window at the front instead of roof lockers, he came up with the explanation that it gives more light inside.  So why darken windows in the first place if more light is needed.  A caravanning friend said the only benefit that he could see for tinted windows was the ability for the occupants to be nosey without being seen.

Some of the benefits are supposed to be reduced fading to upholstery,cooler interior.My caravan originally had ordinary glass but when I had them replaced by Polyplastic,as they were faulty, I opted for the darker tinted ones and they do appear to make the van cooler.

Well, at least someone has offered a practical explanation.  Does it really do that?  Dark colours absorb heat from sunlight, whereas white, silvered, etc surfaces reflect it.  Would it be possible for the windows to have a silver mirrored finish (similar to sunglasses), and would this produce a reduced heat effect in the van?
