To stop standing water on the roof we're thinking of storing the caravan nose down slightly, does anyone else do this, is there any reason why we shouldn't?
Thanks
Helen
Always store mine nose down it does help to stop any standing water, done this for the last 12 years. Must say my roof is not as green as others whos vans are level after a lay up period.

------------- I do the towing so it must be my turn to wash the van and clean the inside!!!
b. The water flows out of the kitchen sink and shower properly
c. ...The important issue...so that the fridge works correctly. It has to be within so many degrees of level to function correctly
When the van is in storage none of the above apply so we sit it tilted or level (or whatever) for the situation we are trying to achieve.
Thus it doesn't really matter if you tilt it forward or backwards to get the rain off the roof

Thanks for your replies everyone, we shall lower one end slightly then, we couldn't see any obvious reason not to do this but thought that if there was one then someone on here would know!
Thanks again
Helen
just to be different mine always stands nose up when not in use. This is to keep all the pipes underneath drained (outlet is at the back) and the roof drains off the back, no streaks at front or sides.
Just make sure that your 12 pin/dual plugs are covered so that they are not waterlogged if you are nose down!!!

We have a neighbour who always leaves van with front steadies down and rear one up so that van looks like it is dragging its bum on ground....always makes me laugh when I see it. Wasn't sure if done for specific reason but would have thought it not ideal way to store (but what do I know)
I thik it's a good idea to have to water running off the roof & having it run off the front is better for us. We keep ours on the drive hitched to an RSJ concreted in the ground with a hitch welded to it set so the van is nose down slightly to encourage water to run off the roof. I also remove the jockey wheel from it once it's hitched to the post to make it harder work for anyone thinking they'd steal the van. They've got one awy from here & will have to work hard to get this one.

This sounds an excellent idea! Wish I'd thought about it before our caravan went into store yesterday, 250 miles away!
i guess you have a seaonal pitch 250 mile is a long way to keep it stored i hope security is tip top

Mines store nose up so the water runs off the back. There is a nice gutter along the back that stops the back from looking mucky and the front stays clean. Also the water pipes at the back are pointing down to ensure they are completely drained.
