We bought our latest van from Chipping Sodbury & our previous van from Chichester Caravans, both did good handovers.

Bailey have transient warranty so we go to a local service agent in Essex, we don't have to go back to Chipping Sodbury for warranty & service work.

Much better than the main dealer we bought our first van from.  The salesman left soon afterwards so perhaps it was not representitive of the dealer so I'll not name them.

The CS spec looks really good, however beware that the optional chest will add about 10kg to the noseweight & remove 14kg from your available payload. The lock & bedding are another 10kg. We have the optional chest in our Pegasus fixed bed & it is very useful as it means you don't have to get the table out for small meals.

hi zafiral, thanks for your input. I see you have a series 1 pegasus, how do you find it as we have looked at a 514 which due to the huge front bed and the great way its made up could work for us. I am though a bit put off because of the interior, it just looks a bit stark and isnt a patch on the Pegasus 2 or Olympus 2. However it wouldnt stop me buying the van as it has plenty of other things we really like about it. Have you had any problems with your Pegasus? The one we've seen is a brand new 2011 with the additional bumpers at the front.

Did you buy from CS as it was the best deal?

Ours is a pre bumper model.

I have to admit we have had a couple of niggles with the van, mainly blown LED bulbs from a light strip & one grab handle), we also had a broken drawer & mismatched trim panel, but all these have been sorted out under warranty by our local dealer.

Re the stark / minimalist interior (depending on your view!!!) - we like it, it makes the van appear brighter & it is easy to clean with wipeable walls (we have a 9 year old & a puppy).

The Pegasus 2 lost quite a bit of spec from the Pegasus 1. The £1000 cost saving came by loosing the Avtex TV/DVD, the Alco secure lock, alarm & tracker. The Pegasus 1 also has a Alko jack, not sure about Pegasus 2.

The Pegasus 1 also has day beds in the front lounge which are fantastic.  Each seat pulls out induvidually for relaxing. It also means there are no slats to slip when making the double bed up.  Only the Unicorn of the current range has these.

Overall we are more than happy with our Pegasus 1.

Yes CS were the best deal (worth the round trip from Kent).

sounds good, does yours have the underlocker strip lighting on the lounge area? We are unsure of what sort of light this gives and how do you go about replacing the bulbs? Do you remove the whole strip?

We also had an extra strip of lights fitted in the blank lenses above each settee when we got the van. The light above the front  window is two strips.

Yes the whole strip is replaced as one.  The strip has wiring clips on the end  & each strip is from memory is 3 or 4 blocks of 3 leds soldered together.

what sort of light do they give off? The 514 has the strip running along both sides and the front.

We are happy with light they give off, we very rarely use the roof dome lights. Ours also has 2 led spots in the lounge for reading, a strip above the kitchen & a strip above the tv point.

thanks for the info zafiral, its much appreciated.

We really like the van but just remember what a slating some people on here gave them! Theres a brand new 2011 at Swindon caravans for £13995 and a 2010 at Northam Farm for £12995, both within an hour and both Bailey dealers so no worries going back for servicing and warranty work. We've looked at the 2011 van at Swindon but not the 2010 one yet. Think a trip to Northam Farm is on the cards as I'm interested to see how what a used Pegasus looks like after use. The 2010 will also have the front bumper upgrade. Either one we'd want a mover fitted to.

We have an adria Altea 542DT 2009 and we bought it new from Venture caravans, daventry. We had no problems at all with the van for the first two years and then we had to have the shower corner unit replaced as it had a crack in it. This was done under warranty and with no hassle. I can't believe that british vans have so many niggles with them when bought new. We have had no niggles at all with the Adria and would definitely buy one again. I really like the look of lots of British vans but the build quality would make me think twice about buying one!
I hope you find the van of you dreams soon!
Jo

Our 2010 factory order has the old style bumpers. Be aware that the big bumpers appear to cover the lower awning rail opening so if you have a full awning then the awning isn't held tight to the van all the way down.

thanks, we noticed that on the 2011 van. We probably wont ever use a full awning. Have a Kampa Rally 260 that would fit and really like the look and feel of the Sunncamp Ultima Acrylic 390 that would also fit.
