I agree the Cornish site featured (Haven I believe from OPs) looked dreadful. No-one has come up with the name of the very first site though someone did know the helpful chaps.
I think it would have been nice if he could have stayed at different sites and, as mentioned previously, showed some actual living in the caravan, instead acting as if he was simple minded. Wonder which posh hotels he stayed in?

Hi, I watched it too, bit disappointing, did learn three things though, 1. how to tow caravan illegally, 2 how not to reverse caravan, and 3 the most important one not to go near Haven sites,( from past experience, crap and very expensive)
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong

Bit disappointed. Thought the best bit was the start when he pitched on rather a nice looking campsite and was assisted in pitching by two very helpful campers! Anyone know which site that was?

So was I and I thought the instructor he was given so that he could learn reversing was worse than useless.
No mention of where the breakaway cable attached to, no mention of water drainage or how water is gotten into the caravan. Plenty of banal stuff about Punch and Judy etc.
I had been looking forward to this particular episode and felt a bit let down.
I suppose it's the old, old story of a production team and a presenter producing and presenting a subject none of them know very much about but " it'll be alright, no one will notice.......". But they haven't reckoned with the caravanning fraternity!!!!!
Found it quite funny really. At least at the end he did say that he wasnt looking forward to the prospect of a caravan holiday but actually enjoyed it. Noticed he had a brand new Swift and was towing it with a Disco.
Watched the series and found it entertaining and funny.
Was it wider? I've seen loads of 4x4s without towing mirrors, and by and large they are wider than a normal car surely? And it was a disco he was driving.

I don't think there are any 4 x 4s that are wider than a caravan as the width of the caravan is normally 2.3m.
Its simple geometry - the further out the mirrors the less of a blind spot. Driving without towing mirrors can cause accidents and possibly cost a motorcyclist his/her life.
