Hi locovan, I was under the impression that the Japanese had tighter emission controls than here in Britain, so it comes as a surprise that their car don’t meet the requirements, with the change of classification, could it be DVLA’s way of finding extra revenue, if so it is a very sneaky way to do it, pity the poor bloke that turns up to tax his vehicle only to find that he has to pay the extra £200. Very useful and helpful bit of information, thanks for that.

DVLA changed my HiLux Surf to an estate no problem but either way I have no intention of going anywhere near London at any time!
