Some of you may have read about our new caravan (new to us) well we're really pleased with it. After the damp Pageant, the lovely GT60 (only sold as fixed bed didnt work)  then the brand new Lunar we rejected due to loads of problems with it we now have a lovely 2010 Bailey Ranger 500-5.

Saw it advertised on the CC classifieds and after a week of telephone calls and emails we went to see the van on Friday and brought it home with us. Its got the mover OH wanted, the layout works and it still looks like new. Spec wise theres a few things we want to add (door flyscreen, rear dinette power point, external power point and bbq point) then it'll be just perfect!

Got loads of extras included which are all like new still including full and porch awnings, outwell folding larder/cupboard, a full size hoover , windbreaks, breathable cover, alko hitchlock, wheel clamp, aquaroll and wastemater etc etc.

We've had the heating going this morning and enjoyed a cup of coffee in there with the inlaws. Neighbours probably think we're mad (4th van on drive in 8 months ) but this ones for keeps. Probably wont get a chance to get away til March but we'll make do with seating inside van on a regualr basis til then.

Savanne, I have followed your trials and tribulations with the various vans that you have had.  I think you have got a good van there, the layout is flexable for you as a couple or as a family. It sounds as if you have got a good deal with all the extras that have been included, and you have no doubt saved a considerable amount of money as opposed to buying a brand new one.  I hope you all enjoy. 

If the neighbours think you are mad, they will certainly think so if they know you are sleeping in it!! but I know a lot of us would do the same.

thanks Shirley, when my parents come to stay they'll be using the caravan from now on instead of the travel lodge just down the road!

Van feels so right and we are very happy not to have ended up paying alot more for a brand new one.

Im glad you are sorted - you have had a run of bad luck so I have my fingers and toes crossed that this van will be perfect for you xx I've thought about putting people up in the caravan but not sure if they would take kindly to it.

Hi savanne1, Congratulations, Glad to hear you finally got the van you wanted and with all the extras, you are doing the right thing by test driving it at your home, and getting use to it before you take it out on your first trip. Oh just a thought “if your guests may not want to sleep in your van, swap places and let them have the bed, and you can sleep in van." Any excuse!!

Glad you've found a van, sounds like you've had a good deal 

have piled up all the caravan brochures we've accumulated over the last year ( was shocked at the amount!) and chucked them in the recycling bin. Now I'll enjoy reading my Caravan, Caravan Buyer and CC mag each month instead of scouring the internet for a van. However I cant guarantee I wont start a want list equipment wise for next year. Already got my eye on a quest LED awning light.
