Any old cordless drill 14.4v or above will do. It's only a quick job. When done put it on charge for when you go home.
Most caravan accessory shops will sell the bit to go in it to fit the steady.
Ask father Christmas for one.
Why do people use a drill, surely you have to use a winder of some sort to finish off the last bit to get the right footing??, The batteries go flat or be flat when you come to use it, and for petes sake it only takes 15 seconds a steady to wind up or down, if you want to speed the process up by 10 seconds surely you need to relax more??
we bought a cordless off the shopping channel on the TV for £7 ok its only fit for small jobs or winding the steadies down but it works. The reason we use it is because were both disabled and its easier for us.

my hubby and I are both disabled and the use of a drill helps to make vanning something we can continue to do for pleasure

I use a 24v Bosch to wind up when leaving home, wind down and drill all awning pegs once pitched. Saves time and effort - especially on removing the pegs and makes drilling in through hardstanding a breeze. Yes, it lazy, yes i could do it by hand but it speeds up the process and gives me more time to myself which is especially important for short weekend breaks. Not a drill bought for the purpose but one used around the house that comes with us. No need for a charger normally as will do all this and wind back down at home
I picke up one with 2 batteries in Auchan Dunkerque for €15! Its ok but batteries don't hold charge too long, ok for in hte van, charge it before I go to get van out.
I sometimes have to start the steady with spanner before using the drill-usually if they have not been used for a bit! I have the wheel spanner to remove Al-ko lock so use that!

Most people buy a drill with 2 batteries,it dosent need to be that powerfull and one with a torque setting helps not to over tighten the steady.I like speeding up the process by 10secs as this gives me more drinking time This is what the winder looks like
I use a drill for steadies but only because i spotted one on offer at Aldi for £15, I also bought a drill bit set for £5 - not the best quality but has been useful for jobs around the house. The battery is good enough for putting the steadies up and down about 4 times between charges.
