each to thier own but due to getting older and a few probs ive started using a drill and winder for steadies and yes i maybe have to give it a last twist with manual winder to level but im not hurting anyone, if you prefer manual fair enough cant see the need for a debate over it.

hate winding down the legs i have used a drill for years.it takes seconds and i dont get a bad back.really easy to make your own fitting and save £7.find a long nut and bolt that fits into your drill chuck,say about 6 inches.find a socket that fits the leg nut secure not loose.bolt the two together and away you go.if you have a large drill do not overdo it.

Hi Voltage battery good, High Ampage is even better, with a good torque adjuster.
I use to use mine to get the legs down qickly and then use the steady wrench to tighten them down the last little bit becuase you get a better feel of whats going on by hand.
But reverted back to the hand tool in an effort to keep weights down.
