Just got back from Ferry Meadows where we have been since Xmas Eve.Our first caravanning Xmas, but definately not our last! The kids have all grown up and wanted to spend the holidays with their in-laws so we decided to pack up the van and head to our favorite site for Xmas.
From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a good decision, on Xmas Eve there was mince pies, wine and carol singers by the reception; and how festive we felt just then!! If a few flakes of snow had fallen it would have been almost perfect at that exact moment. And to see all the vans trimmed with lights and trees was absolutely stunning.
Christmas day was a delight; with Christmas dinner being easily coped with by our Burstner kitchen, a walk around the beautiful lakes followed by beer, chocolates and Dr Who.
My cousin arrived on Boxing Day in their new Bailey Senator, and having company helped so much; meals were cooked, beer was drank.
the weather helped, and the site really filled up from Boxing day onwards; although there were many more vans there for xmas than we imagined.
Would we do it again? absolutely! although we'd take more lights to decorate the van; and if we manage to have New Year off too it'll be Abbey Wood next time to take in the fireworks!
Xmas in the caravan? wonderful!
