Hi everyone, can anyone tell me how to remove the front of my gas fire as the retaining screws have fallen out of the left hand side and they can only be accessed with the cover removed? Any help is much appreciated.
I answered this question elsewhere and I see you've read it, but it gives me a chance here to post something while I'm away, no heaters required here?!

same problem here! The front cover has come away from the clips on one side but we can't see what is holding it in place . Didn't find the Truma website very helpful.

Put a screw just under the top at the back. The new ones seem to have one there otherwise bend up the spring clips.
I've just copied this from a post I made back in April, funny that it still fits without alteration!...
Forgive me then, but it makes my blood boil when I read of using self tappers to secure Truma fire fronts? That is simply a bodge and certainly not getting to the route of the problem.
In general the main cause/s is the aluminium box the fire front clips too, is not fitted correctly.
This will be because of the box being too far back, the edge should be 1mm proud of the woodwork down each side.
Next, over sized screws used to secure the box and the deeper screw heads exacerbating the above, thirdly the spring wire clips have been bend down or otherwise out of shape.
All together the above stops the front going fully over the clips so they are unable to spring back up fully so not securing the front.
There are convenient holes in the side of the box which can be used to secure the box, using these you/your dealer can reset the box position correctly and by default eliminate the second problem, the spring clips can then be adjusted to their correct shape.
I would also strongly recommend you get the vans wheels balanced as this is quite often a secondary cause!

Our brand new Bailey had a screw and so did our last Swift straight from production. I removed them.
Good for you, if they put them together correctly, they were not needed in the first place!
Truth is though, I very much doubt the screw was fitted other than at supplying dealer, he would do this at pdi to save him grief later! Shame he did not spend the time getting the wheels balanced...and save him and you a whole load more possible grief?!!!
