We've recently bought our first caravan (burather 530tk 2002). when putting the double / king size diner bed together, what does everyone do to ensure a comfy night?
I was thinking some form of memory foam mattress on top then roll it up and away in the morning, unless were on a long stay with sunny weather then id leave it as a permanent bed.
Thanks for any replies :)

Hi we have the king size bed at the front and we have two single 3" memory mattress toppers with removable protector covers then stretch jersey sheets and we sleep very well.

We used to throw a quilt over the bed and with it being in a quilt cover we could use that instead of a bottom sheet :) Very quick and convenient and comfortable. If you do decide on a mattress topper then i'd suggest putting a quilt cover on it as it makes it so much easier to make up the bed :)

Depending on what you want to spend have a look at the Raskelf duvalay, we have them and think they are great and it makes setting up the bed much easier!
We used to use a quilt now we have a matters topper inside a cover , throw it down and instant bed, then use covers as you want, quilt ect, OH bought me a duvalay but I just didnt get on with it, I felt a bit closed in and I didn't like that and in the summer I only have a sheet over me, that said they are popular but expensive.

We found ours a touch hard without any topper but we just got a cheapyish one from Ikea which just has corner elastics to fit. I dislike having to make up the bed so it had to be something simple and quick to fit, then just a jersey fitted sheet over the top and thats it, definitely comfier now.
We also found ours too hard so we bought a cheap topper with a removable protective cover - I think it was about £40 from Home Bargains. We then have two super-king size sleeping bags zipped together and if it is cold we take a lightweight quilt to go over the top and a couple of fleece blankets to make it super cosy - I do not like being cold lol!
I'm ok on mine for two nights any longer and my back starts to ache, our van has sprung seats, nice to sit on a bit uncomfortable to lay on, in our last van it was foam seats and they were really comfy, so I bought a 1" thick mattress topper in its own cover, and that little bit more has made it much more comfy.

We use a Jonic matress topper on the fixed bed in our van. The OH found the standard matress too hard in our Pegasus, although I didn't find it an issue.
We have not tried our caravan yet. We sold our folding camper last October and bought the caravan. We used memory foam on top of the sprung mattresses in the camper and found it ok. My caravan has sprung seats for 6 people at the front good for sitting on. The back seats which make a double bed are foam so going off comments above, good for sleeping on. We will be leaving this end as a fixed bed with 2" of memory foam, a cotton protector, a fitted sheet holding it all together and a douvet. Still plenty of caravan for day use. Topper weighs 6kg. Can't wait to try it out.
I use an Ikea mattress topper for our front double. This is foam but also has a quilted top. I use a fitted sheet . . It is very easy to set up. I leave the quilt and pillows in place and then just roll up like a Swiss roll and secure with a couple of bungee straps. I then store it on one of the fixed bunks but I have heard others who store it in the shower. At night I just unroll it and i's all set up. It's very comfy!
