We are looking to buy a quality, sturdy table, approx 5 - 6ft in length in an oval shape to use in our awning this summer.

I am finding it very difficult to find a sturdy table that looks the part as lots of these camping tables are very flimsy.

We were more hoping that they may be a portable dining table available for awnings?

The only one I have found so far is at our local caravan dealers showroom and is made by Quest.

Any recommendations from anyone please?

We use a rectangle foldable garden plastic one from Aldi. It is very good quality and sturdy. It is the foldable leaf type so you can fold one leaf down and you then then use it for 2 peaple at the side of the awning. With it fully up you can fit 6 around it. It is dark grey but we have a table cloth over so you would never know. the legs are are on a central pedistal so no legs for your charirs to bump into and one of the feet have a level adjuster to take up any level issue's. It fold down to around 10" x 30" X 30". It cost £40

Outwell Hamilton table? £59.99 at Go Outdoors, good quality and I reckon the mesh shelf will be very useful. Maybe a bit big for you though.

I want one but OH says NO!!

I always take a look at these threads in case anyone comes up with better than what we have. So far, I will still stick to our roll top and table cloth. It is fairly stable and light. I actually thing that, in some way, the table cloth makes it more stable. We never have any major problems, so am inclined to stick with it.

One of these came as standard with our FC, the type supplied with caravans to make up a bed by bridging the seats. We never had the need for that but found it a very sturdy (and heavy) table. It was in a different league to what we use now for tent camping. There's a pic in our gallery.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it

We have the Lafuma Hawaii table which is fantastic. It has four adjustable legs and is oval with a parasol hole in the centre. It is 130cm long and 80cm wide and would easily seat six.

Unfortunately it seems to have been discontinued. I have found it second hand on ebay. Might be worth a search to see if any retailer has any knocking around. We bought ours for about £70 a couple of years ago.

Costco sell a 6ft folding table - plastic or resin top and steel folding legs - good quality and sturdy but the box is 6ft long and only the legs fold - and it ain't very light.

I can check the price next time I am there if you are interested?

Westfield outdoors do a really sturdy table with adjustable legs, there are two sizes, cannot remeber dimensions, the small one is the Campstar and large is The Campico. Expensive but very strong, we saw it at the NEC in October and seriously thinking of buying one for awning use.
