CARAVAN retailer Catterick Caravans has bought Discover Leisure’s retail outlet on the A64 between York and Malton.
Discover Leisure closed its site on Flaxton Moor when the business went into administration in October.
Catterick Caravans, run by brothers Chris and Matthew Kinsell, will rename the York site Ebor Leisure World.
Matthew Kinsell said: “This move represents not just our growing influence in the leisure vehicle sector, but commitment to our north-east of England stronghold.”

My 2011 Lunar Clubman is booked in for its first service tomorrow at Catterick caravans. Wheel bearing failed on my car on tuesday, garage not sure whether car will be fixed tomorrow. I phoned Catterick service to advise them that I might be a no show or late. Was told that if I didn`t make it tomorrow they couldn`t do the service until mid June!! I offered to leave the van with them in case they could squeeze me in. Not possible. How will this affect my warranty???? I shall be having words with the Mr Kinsetts I think
I agree with Big Al, we bought ours from them and the sales staff are great.
The customer services are rubbish, I think they should visit Loudhams to see how customer services should be. Dont they realise repeat sales come from the after sales staff. I certainly wont be buying another new van from them, or even getting ours serviced by them again.
I bought a new swift from them in March last year. The few warranty problems I've had have taken an age to sort. Won't get finished till June. Everytime time I call its somebody else dealing with it, emails "get lost", promised phone calls never happen. Snotty attitude from the service doesn't help.
Wonder what's happening to the chorley branch only got our van 4 mths before they went under, but I heard through work they were in trouble end of 2010.
There's no decent caravan places round here Stewart longton and Campbell's are pants and glossop is miles away.
