Hi all, its been a while since i was last on here due to one thing or another, i have a dilema that i hope someone can help with.
Tomorrow i collect my new van, well new to me a 2006 Swift Charisma 4 berth which is a much bigger van than my last 2 berth fleetwood colchester. I have found a nice site that is open 12 mths of the year and the OH would like to tow it up to the site this weekend and set it all up as we will be siteing it here all year. I have looked at the weather and the wind speed in Penrith is about 25mph, so what i would like to ask is would you tow in that wind speed or would you leave it till next weekend.
The only reason that i ask is that we are not able to put the van on the drive as is it too long to fit but we do have a storage place with a space to fit us on for a week at the price of £35.00.
So to tow or not to Tow that is the question, all advice greatly recieved
Hi mike it's a KIA sportage, I have towed in higher winds with the smaller van without any problems but don't know if a larger van will make a diffrence, I have looked on the web and it says the van and car are a perfect match
Cheers
Kev
There are certain times when I will think twice about towing when windy, but I would tow in a 25 ok, just take your time, I'm sure you'll be fine.

The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
Hi Faulknerf we are going to Crossfell, which is near melmerby its nothing flash but it is relaxing and quite which is what we want, there is a nice little pup though across the road with real ale and pup grub.
The owner is super nice and it looks great ill post on here after the weekend, if you want the contact number give me a shout but i think it is on the campsite section on here
Just take it easy, especially if you're not certain. Never be afraid to stop, pull over and find an alternative site at your current location if it gets difficult. Or even turn back if you're not happy. Don't worry or panic. After saying that 25mph doesn't seem to bad at all for wind speed.
We are off in a minute and it's 23 here right now, dosnt seem to bad, but we just take our time, only going localish though, but you'll be fine.
Have fun
