Hi, I hope someone can help me.  We are relatively new to the world of Caravanning. We purchased our Bailey Olympus 525 last year and have enjoyed a few weekends away with our two young boys aged 5 and 7.  In February we are going our first 'biggie' to Looe in Cornwall for a week.  We have booked a serviced pitch.  We have bought the Aquaroll fitting so we can connect up to the water supply but need to purchase a waste water hose.  Can anyone please tell us what size hose we would need for our caravan and if there are any extra bits we will need...?  Many thanks!

Hi Jacquelineob
Welcome to world of tin tenting!   With regards to your question are you wanting to direct your waste water directly from the van to the drain on your pitch ?
We have pulled our van around quite a bit and stayed on many service pitches and we did still use the waste hog however we then went and we measured from our waste pipes to the back of our van and then added some "extra" hosing and that seems to be sufficient as most services pitches tend to have the post at the rear of the pitch .

Hope you had a great time in Looe we stayed on Tregoad Park and its was really great site !

Go to your nearest caravan dealer. They'll have all you need. Your options are to run a relatively short length of the grey waste hose from the van outlet(s) to a waste container (effectively, the opposite of what you'll be doing with your aquaroll), and/or a longer length to discharge waste water direct to the drain on a serviced pitch. We used to keep various lengths and connectors to cater for different pitches, and keep them rolled up in the front locker.

Hi,

With ours we got one 5m length of grey waste pipe and then a 2 into 1 adaptor (useful if you have two waste outlets, i.e kitchen and bathroom). We then took our normal 2 short pieces of grey pipe that we use with the waste master and plugged them into the adaptor and then used the 5m length of pipe from the other side of the adaptor to the drain. Worked fine for us but just make sure the pipes are flat so they drain ok. We keep all these bits in the front locker now as they don't take up much room. Hope that makes sense? You can get all the bits from any caravan dealer.

Darren

Get the waste container anyway.
Example.

Its styled to be stored under the van when on site if not in use. You may not always be able to get a serviced pitch so need to drain into your own container.

You'll find variations with pitch services and locations of service points so having a collection of bits n bobs is useful.

For example, a basic aquaroll can be connected by hose to the tap, and you can easily top it up as required. Or there's a sort of ball valve arrangement, so that it tops up automatically, like your loo cistern at home. Or you can connect directly to the water and bypass the aquaroll.

With waste, what dazzer said.

Hours of endless fun
