I was going to change mine until I realised that the wiring was completely different on the car. Eventually got a professional to do it. It's not cheap.
The OP is talking about the socket that is mounted on the side of the A frame if you have a newer Truma Mover. To operate the Mover you first have to plug your caravan 13 pin or 12s plug into this socket, otherwise there is no power to the Mover.
We are now in the process of changing our caravan, so the new van will have a 13-pin plug to fit the 13-pin socket on the car. Our current van has 12N/12S plugs and, until the decision to change, I had planned to fit a 13-pin socket to the A-frame, and then have a connecting cable with 13-pin plugs at both ends. This has several advantages, plus a spare connecting cable can be carried in the event of the one in use getting damaged.
Our caravan has two plugs as does my husband's car which I usually use to tow. However I am getting a new car that has a detachable tow bar, I havent seen the tow bar yet but given the car is newish I think it will be a 13 pin one.
Is there a connector or something simple that can be done so that we can use both cars when they have different connections.
Thank you I wasnt aware there was something available. Is that not the wrong way round though, dont I need the oppositte to adapt from 2 plugs (from caravan) to 1 x 13 pin on new car?

Yes sorry. Try this one. There are cheaper ones but be careful. Some are from China nd are c--p!!!!
Yes thank you, am now watching that so if new car turns up with 13 pin I will order. How amazing to get an answer so quickly and such a simple solution.
Our current car/van connection is via an adaptor (12N/12S at the van to 13-pin at the car. I regularly spray all plugs and sockets with silicone spray - more lubricating qualities than WD40.
