just back from secc,whats happening with the insides of the new caravans ,the seating areas are miniscule ,some of the fitted single beds wouldnt fit my 5 yr old grandaughter never mind an adult ,didnt like the black windows in the new hobbys ,did like one of the coachmans with the double seating areas ,front and back and loved the lodges ,they were to die for only a hundred and forty thousand but id sell my house for one !!!!,good wee day out for it just reminds me why i like my old coachman so much it doesnt have microwaves and fancy stuff built in but it is roomy ,has sturdy seating and plenty room for sleeping ,my beds like a queen size when made up ,some of the beds i saw today were like a single and a quarter ,not even a double ,and there is none of your cream sitting areas ,that wouldnt do for dogs and grandkids

Funny youshould say this as this was exactly what I said to my wife yesterday. We spent 7 hours yesterday at the show and our conclusion regarding the new tourers was would we give up our 2007 Bailey Pageant Provence in place of a caravan from the show and I can quite honestly say NO I wouldn't. There was nothing at the show yesterday to make us part with our spacious and comfortable home from home. And the Hobby's you refer to were just not our cup of tea....they looked like space ships.

The Hobbys were very strange looking.  There were a fair few 'vans at the show that I would have had ... happily the one we liked most is that one that we've just had delivered!!

I'm not really interested in going to any of the the shows really because year on year the same happens with manufacturers where the practical side diminishes to make way for visual attractions that are less practical. Why spend thousands of pounds when at the end of the day it's just a roof over your head with a bed, cooker, fridge, toilet and shower. Like you, I'd rather stick with my Coachman any day because in my view there's nothing any better only the fact that it's younger.

Coachman fan club here. We love are little 380 amara. It may be small but it feels massive to us after are last van tiny Abi Adventurer

yes i agree with you all ,older vans are more roomy ,i hope your happy with your van iain ,you didnt say what kind it was ,there were about two there i would have had ,i expect everybody is happy with what they have ,it would be a bad case if we all liked the same thing

Totall agree with the comments, hence when we sold our Pageant Provence for a new van, we ended up going to twin axle as the new singles didnt seem to be as roomy and we wanted more room not less!
