               In the few years that I've been caravaning , I've noticed a  rise in

              EHU prices , I know power prices have risen but some sites , some in france are looking for 6-7 euros per night , I might be a bit naive here but is it possible to use 50 euros of elec a week in a van ?

I guess the price should reflect the quality of the site and not the view ! As scouts when we were camping it was £1 per night but then it was a green field site dig ur own toilets ! and then again I have paid £35 per night for the Woodlands in Devon and they had a theme park included and it was open all the time!

So i guess you need to decide where you want to go and then decide if you want to pay those prices ! As we travelled from Scotland to Cornwall over the years and seen amazing sites and stayed on some dumps ! but price was never a concern.

We always rank a camp site by it bathroom clean ! and dry is a winner . Scenery is variable , but seriously you can get cheap campsites but beware

Some folks don't have a choice of cheap sites or expensive ones. Regardless of the quality of the site it's a cheap site or stay home. So price is always a concern. There is no such thing as expensive...to a millionaire

We do a mixture of different sorts of sites and rallies throughout the year. Our main holiday this year is £42 a night which I think is very expensive, however when you throw in a few rallies and CL's etc the average price for the year works out between £20 and £25 per night.

Filey Brigg is a lovely site...think thats around the £25 mark..nice playground, plenty of space, cafe / shop, clean showers and toilets, great views and walks...10 mins walk down to a great beach. Could probably find the tel number if youre interested. Not too far to travel either from Leeds!

There are still loads of small 5 van sites for £10 or less a night with the CC.

Sorry but I think camping is as cheap as you want to make it 9as otehrs hav esaid rallying is still cheap). Choice is out there you just have to look a bit harder thee days maybe?

Even the c&cc sites are £22.75 per pitch for a family of 4 in high season, with additional fees if you have ehu. As with most holiday companies campsites are no different in ripping off parents with school age children. Their overheads cannot be so much higher and then a week later so much lower. They are just cashing in at the popular times, but then they are businesses so nothing more to be expected.

i find that the caravan club is ripping the member,s off, last year for one week two adults two grandkids £175,the second week at a commercial site £80, i wont be renewing our membership this year.
