Theres an article in this months Caravan Buyer mag with a review and pics of the new Isabella Transit awning. We like the idea of it, sun canopy then sides and a front panel that can be used as and when needed. Anyone seen one in the flesh or read the article? Havent looked into the price yet (gulp) but we are interested.

Savanne, this sounds exactly what we have been looking for! Dorema in the Netherlands do removable panels for their Panorama sun canopy (which we have) but not here in the UK. This Isabella is possibly even beetter as its not a full size awning, which is not what we want.
Hello again Savanne, having looked at that link above, i realised that the front and side panels are extras and it does then put the price at nearly £900!
Yikes, don't think we'll be getting one at that price! Not this year anyway. Still like to see one though.
Lassie, I did exactly the same as you. Thought price not bad then realised the front and sides were extra. I'm going to ring Isabella and ask where will be displaying them and if one of the windows has any mesh on or otherwise its a no go as we like the air movement with mesh when we are in France as the mossies are out.
OH really keen on it, he wants to avoid a heavy full awning and the 420 seems like a great compromise but the price OUCH.

We'd have to measure where the awning sides come on our 'van, i don't like i if it covers a window on the'van. We've got the Isabella Minor porch awning and it just fits around the windows/door but its quite small so i think we'd need the 420 and i don't know how that would fit with our windows etc.
I've emailed the link to hubby at work but he must be really busy as hes not replied to it!
We havent measured if it would fit ours either and its got the cover on so will have to wait til next month to measure. The Ranger came with a full size awning which is in mint condition, we are taking it to the Isle of Wight for its trial outing but if we find it hard to erect and it has steel poles so heavy we'll take pics and sell it on our return.
The Transit is exactly what we've been looking for. In France last August the Dorema Panorama (which we sold with the van) was great in hot weather but not so on cooler evenings which is where the front panel of the Transit would come in handy. Also we're doing a two site holiday and the thought of erecting a full sized awning for three nights- well its just not going to happen.

Hi Savanne, hubby is home now and he wants one too! He says we can sell our Dorema Panorama and Isabella Minor and hopefully almost have enough to buy the Transit!

if i remember righly i dont think they are available from Isabella till May i think. Would be good but bit of a waiting period im afraid
Thanks for the info marshy. We're not in a rush and we need to sell all our camping stuff which hopefully should cover most of the awning cost. Already sold a few caravan bits and a porch awning so theres £250 in the pot.
Lassie, I'm going to ring Isabella on Monday and see if I can find out more info and where it will be stocked. We have a local Isabella stockist so fingers crossed we'll get to see it in the flesh. Have thought about going to the Excel show, may have to if its going to be on display.

hi again savanne, we're still dithering about what to do about our awnings! . We have 3 awnings - a small easy to erect awning for weekends (which i don't like but hubby thinks is ok!), our Isabella Minor (which i love) and our Dorema Panorma (which is too big really).
Have looked at Fiamma Caravanstore and buying the mesh sides from Lilypad Leisure but can't make up our mind if its right for us. Last weekend we had decided to replace our small awning for the Isabella Explorer xl but when we measured the 'van one of the legs would sit across a window, so that was out!
This Transit awning would be perfect depending how stable it is as a canopy and of course where it fits on our 'van. Maybe we should have a look at it again.
Thanks for bringing it the the top again but now puts us in this dilema again, when we decided to swtay with what we have for now! Urghh!
cant decide whether to go for it or not. Have found a 340 for sale brand new in box with sides and front for £500. Would really like to see one in the flesh though.

I've just been talking to hubby about it and we're undecided too but think if people have found it ok then it could replace all 3 of our awnings.
Somebody needs to bebrave and go for it - be a 'guinea pig' - unfortunately we would have to sell all our awnings to fund it and i'm not brave enough to do that! Are you? Seems nobody has been brave enough to try it!
I noticed on Highbridge Caravans website they aren't stocking it but you can order it. Who is your local dealer?
