we remove the glass plate and wedge it between the sofa cushions on our bailey, the microwave itself is actually screwed into it's overhead compartment, I would imagine your coachman is probably the same.
Snap...you don't want the door flying open in transit and the plate smashing on the floor. Far as I know all microwaves are fixed into position like all other appliances. Imagine getting on site and finding the cooker in the bathroom; fire in the front lounge; fridge in the bedroom and microwave on the bed. Still, as David said...that's the wifes' job

We purchased our brand new caravan in May 2007 and in July off we went to France for the summer holidays.
On stopping for dinner on our return journey we found the microwave half hanging out from its high position above the hob and oven complex.
The microwave was fixed in by a small alloy plate with two holes for the feet, this plate was screwed in by two very SMALL grub screws which been had pulled out.
In the Aires I was able to refit the microwave oven using larger screws and it has been OK to this day.
I suppose the swaying of the van had caused it to come loose.
The point I would like to make is that we do not rush anywhere or drive aggressively, to me the small screws did not seem up to the job.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem.
