We use BP Gaslight, the bottles of which are fibreglass (or similar?). Perhaps other gas suppliers will go over to these to beat the thieves.
Scrap metal - we just leave anything we don't want on the drive and it just 'disappears'. We have met several people who find this happens; OK, but you have to be sure you don't leave anything you don't want taking, as they don't ask first - just stop, collect and go!!!
