i would think yes the fittings onto the wall and assembly fittings are only designed to take this weight.

Different makes of caravans and bunk types have different weight limits, our first caravan had the canvas stretcher type of bunk, weight limit 6stones. Our Coachman had the Canter-leaverd type of bunk, weight limit 11stones, Our Lunar has the type of bunk that rests on two woodern wall battons, weight limit 8 stones.

Its best to follow the advice given on you caravans instruction manual, it would be foolish to risk injury or damage to your caravan by overloading it and possibly having to curtail your holiday due to someones injuries or lack of a bunk to sleep on.

The bases on the bunks are normally quite sturdy though, as they are designed to take an adult sitting on them by day, my OH weighs 12 stone and has quite often dropped off for a snooze on our rear bottom bunk without any problems to caravan or limb!
