Has anyone got any advice on whether we should, or even how to extend an awning from 900cm to 996cm. We bought it a couple of years ago and then changed the caravan!!! And only used it three times. Or shall I try to sell it and buy a new one?
From what I recall with Isabella, the only one I have dealt with, is that they only change up to 50cm each way; unfortunately half what you are looking for.
Ours was extended I think from 950 to the 1000 it currently is and the job Isabella did was exceptionally good in both terms of execution and resulting fit to the new van.
You need to talk to the maker if possible; extending was a much cheaper solution for us back in 2002 and then as I recall cost £150 including collection and delivery.
We still have that awning and it is spare if you are interested.

It depends on the size of the triangular pieces at the ends of the roof. If they are small then it should be possible but if they are already quite large then extending would distort the shape of the roof. Eamil a few of the repair/ alteration companies and see what they say. They guy I use is probably a bit too far for you to visit but they do collections as do most.

when I had my awning extended after changing the caraven, I though the 120 00pounds charged was a lot cheaper than buying a new awning, and it was a good job done.

I recently had an awning extended from 975-1000 to 1050-1075 a 75cm increase from barkers of Blackburn, I haven't used the awning yet but from the looks of the awning they have done a fantastic job. Just hope when we use it it will all fit the new caravan ok. They charged £100 for the change.
Google Kingswood canvas in Kingswood Bristol, they've altered several awnings for us over the years & even made us a sleeping annex for one awning we had. Their workmanship is superb & I'd use them again without a second thought.
Obviously you'd have to take or courier the awning to them but if you need to it'd be worthwhile.
I just picked up my 2 awnings last week from Lancashire Sports Repair in Burnley 01282 439109.
I had one awning reduced 60cm.Whilst they reduced it, I had storm straps sewn in (they included buckle & webbing) and I had the channel beading replaced. My awning is only 630cm but including vat it only cost me £85. The other awning I had a large door panel window replaced for £60. Bargain and first class repairs.
Thanks for all your replies. You've been really helpful. I shall email the companies recommended and see what they say. Thanks JTQU for your offer. If I don't get anywhere with extending I may be I touch.
