The seller obviously hoped you either didn't know what you were doing or hoped you liked the caravan so much you would buy it anyway - what a waste of time and effort.

We went to look at a caravan that was damp free. I asked "have you actually checked for damp". "Yes I have checked everywhere - if you find any damp I will pay your petrol costs". Guess what? We found damp in both seating lockers! And no, he didn't pay our petrol costs! Muppet

Hope you find your 'van soon.

Don't walk away, RUN! There are plenty of caravans out there looking for good homes.

Look for a Hymer - they have their Pual system, which doesnt have the same damp issues as traditional framed 'vans.
