I have found a nice decent thickness/handle of fleece. It comes in 150cm widths and you buy by the metre.
I am not sure (if I do throws, how much overlap I should allow for tucking under effectively. I did think about covers but that doubles material? I'm sure I saw clips on here to stopp throws coming off but can't find them :)
The cushions/singles we lie on are...
1.90m x 0.72m/6'3" x 2'4"
1.90m x 0.72m/6'3" x 2'4"
1.91m x 0.67m/6'3" x 2'2"
1.79m x 0.67m/5'10" x 2'2"
I havent got the seat-back cushion dimensions yet, but they look about half the width of the ones we lie on. Am I better draping one throw over the bottom and top cushions...and what's the minimum overlap you folk recommend
OR
do we make two separate throws...one for top cushions and one for bottoms?
Nice looking van. Bet you cant wait to get away in her. We posted a similar theme recently so my wife would like to know how you get on with the fleece idea and what sort of colours and cost per metre. Also is it available on line or via a national chain store? Never heard of the clips you mentioned but sounds interesting. Are they to stop covers falling-off or to stop draughts when you turn-over? Appreciate any more news on this interesting item.
I bought some lovely fleece blankets from ebay. BUT be careful of fleece as it can also go out of shape when pulled a bit. Your going to be sitting on these will these not be going out of shape when sat on & moving around on. Like making a bulge where you bum gone and you have wriggled around a bit after a few getting down/up sort of thing. The cheap fleece I got that went out of shape but then I dont care as if it is really cold it is the one I wrap around myself before I get under the opened out to a duvet sleeping bag. I bought the others from ebay after when I got home from the first hols, Used them on the second later last year,They looked great, kind of a light petrol blue. As our beds are permanently made and on show they make it look plush inside. But I did notice the fleece will sag sitting on it.
Might be just mine. Hope yours turns out great like our others as they act as throws
I recently bought 2 beautiful flowery throws from Aldi for £4.99 each. They are really big and cover the seats beautifully with plenty of tuck under for a neat finish.
I have just covered our caravan seats with fleece bought from our local remainant shop, 72ins wide, £4 a mtr. it has that little bit of stretch in it and gives well to form a nice snug fit, I have made loose covers with it, using newspaper templates taken of the originals and fastened with extra long furnishing zips that this little place also sells. The whole set including zips and cotton cost me just a few pence over £30, but price will of course depend on cost of fabric used.
The little remainant shop is based at Heage in Derbyshire if anyone is ever visiting the area. The fleece comes in about 8 different colours including pastels, and wears well as i have used it before to cover things around the house.
