Due to age and physical condition of the wife and I and us wanting to update our caravan we've decided a fixed bed is the way to go.
We don't tow very often and the van lives on our favourite site all year and our spot is limited length wise, our current van is about 17' + draw bar and its about as long as will fit..we might have another foot or so, what vans should we be looking at? (second hand)
Depends on budget and weights, etc I guess. You could look at the Adrea Altea 432 PX which is small but has a fixed bed, there are many to choose from.
Happy hunting

Don't know if this will help; it's not quite what you were asking but it might be a start. The Caravan Club mag recently listed these "lightweight" models as having a fixed bed. I would imaging that some of them will be on the smaller side if they're lightweight.

If you are looking for a van 17' plus a frame then the world is your oyster - well almost. All the manufacturers make a fixed bed up to and over that length. We have a 4.7m (15' and a bit) internal length. Although the van is long you will not find it a 'big' van when the fixed bed is in The fixed bed takes up a lot of space. if you are tall ie over 6'2 then you will have to be more fussy I am on the limit and have a 6'2 bed for a 6'2 bloke It does the job - just. It would be better to have the bigger bed but I do not want to pull a big van round Europe each summer so we compromise. If you are using the van as a static, then you will be ok with the bigger van and the bigger bed Enjoy the chase
We have just had the same problem with my parents who are retired and now dont want the hassle of putting a bed up every night, They were limited with the length of there garage. They have just bought a Sprite Alpine 4 its about 18ft external length its a lovely light weight van.
